Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I will be running 10k through London on May 27th in memory of my little sister.
We are coming to the time of year (May) when Ros would have been celebrating her birthday, and she always made sure she celebrated it well. I will always want to celebrate it with her. Her last birthday was spent having a great time with some of her most special friends, and I thought maybe if you were one of her friends reading this, you may like to make a donation to Mind in her memory as you can't celebrate her birthday with her. I will be donating too.
I am training to successfully run this race, and I am fairly confident I can complete It. However, it will be a 'personal best' for me if I complete it without walking, and that is what I am aiming for, and so when I start thinking those negative thoughts, such as 'this is so BORING!', I must think to myself 'I'm doing this for Ros', and I myself will donate a bit extra if I manage to stay running/jogging non-stop!
The local Mind group gave Ros so many opportunities to build confidence, to express and develop her creativity, and to make a contribution. Our mental health is so important, but so neglected, and Mind do a very important job nationally of helping people to understand these issues. We ourselves, or our loved ones, may very well be grateful for such an organisation one day.
If you didn't know Ros, please give generously in memory of your own loved ones, or in support of those many people in our neighbourhoods who are struggling with their mental health now.
