Most of you know that I have been chasing around doing quite a few triathlons over the past few years but at the moment I have turned my attention to the running side of things. I have always wanted to complete a marathon and, until I started triathlon training, it is something that I thought I wouldn't be able to achieve.

You and I know what a great physical and emotional buzz I get from all my training and racing (what would be the point otherwise!) and that is why I think the charity that I am running the Paris Marathon for, on 10th April, is so important.

Get Kids Going! is a National charity which gives disabled children and young people - up to the age of 26 yrs - the great opportunity of participating in sport.

These children have so much more to cope and deal with than most of us have to, so if I can help them lift their spirits and well being through raising some money to enable them to get involved in a sport that they are interested in, then I think it is an incredibly worthwhile cause.

Get Kids Going! help promote sports for disabled children by providing them with specially built sports’ wheelchairs so they can do marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, mountain skiing, rugby, basketball etc. Get Kids Going! also helps and encourages British disabled children to compete by supporting them with their sports; training, physiotherapy, travel, design and development of sports’ wheelchairs. With your help myabe some could become record holders and Paralympic champions!
