07 September 2009: The morning after.....And I feel great; slightly aching thighs but other than that I feel really good. I really enjoyed competing inthe run and the atmosphere was great. A big thank you to Mum, Dad, Bec, Rich and, of course, Pete for supporting me on the day and being there to cheer me on.
My target time to complete the run was under an hour and I did it in 58 minutes and 12 seconds!
Thank you again for sponsoring me - including my sponsirship forms it looks like I will have raised just under £450!

04 September 2009: Just two days to go to the run and I have to admit to feeling a little nervous now! I am really looking forward to the day and taking part in such a big event in my home town. The family are going to be there to cheer me on - I just hope they get a decent spot so I can see them; I think by the time I get to about 8km I will need their encouragement!
Since my last update I have increased my training sessions and completed 10km (on the treadmill) in 56 minutes - my target for the actual day is under an hour, so fingers crossed!
Anyway, thank you again to everyone who has sponsored me; I have got sponsorship forms too and so far (including Just Giving) I have been sponsored nearly £400. Thank you also to everyone for your kind and encouraging words. I will update my page again on Sunday evening/Monday morning with my 'official' time once I have it.

20 August 2009: Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page where I hope to raise as much as I can for Amy's Retreat by running the Great Yorkshire Run on Sunday 06 September 2009.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Training for the run is going pretty well so far and I am hitting the gym and pounding the roads at least three times a week; my most recent visit to the gym included a 5km run and 12km bike ride..... This is my first proper event for charity and I just hope I can raise a decent amount of money for Amy's Retreat, which is such a worthwhile charity.
Thank you for your support, Liz. x
