My story

 
So here we are again, but this time bigger and better and three for one, lol!  Some of you may know all of us, or just one.  I think it's fair to say you'll know that we love a band called Thunder, and it's through them and their fan community that this little jaunt started.  We are part of the Loonie Crew and over the past couple of years our exploits have gotten a little whackier, involved a few more Loonies and are now culminating in the three of us undertaking probably the hardest, yet, best thing we've ever done.

Which is this, 26.2 miles in about 7 hours; from midnight; round Hyde Park in fancy (yet supportive) bras!  Did I mention that 26.2 miles is a MARATHON?!?  The exact outfit will remain a mystery until nearer the time, but Loonie wear is nothing if not imaginative, lol!

The training has already started, even though the weather is mean and nasty.  New shoes have been bought for the MARATHON, always a bonus!  And all we need now is support and sponsorship to spur us on.  Our target was the amount required from us by the WTW charity, but we are smashing that and upping it to really brag about Loonie Power!

You can live your New Year's resolutions through us, and still get that feel good factor.  The more money we raise, the more likely we can get Cathy aka Piddy to do this MARATHON in just a bra, lol!  Dig deep boys!

But for all our hard work, there is a serious side to all this.  These days it's hard to find someone who hasn't been touched by cancer somehow.  So every penny helps, please tell all your friends about these plucky birds you know and get them to sponsor us too.  Probably the same ones that you have to badger about Thunder related news, lol!  For all you Thunder virgins, visit www.thunderonline.com or www.myspace.com/thunderonline  to find out what all the fuss is about!

We did it!!!  It was one hell of a night and morning after, but we are now very proud owners of the biggest medals in the world.  Which more than makes up for the blisters and sore hamstrings.
