Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know riding is one of my passions. I thought I could combine my passion and hobby with raising funds and taking part in a sponsored ride. It takes place on the 10th July 2010 and will be the largest sponsored ride ever held. Over 2000 horses will start at Ascot racecourse, follow a route around the beautiful , and finish off with the unique experience of riding past the winning post on the hallowed turf of . Hang on you might think, why should I sponsor you to do something fun? I do plan on making it slightly harder or Interesting. Depending on the weather I plan on either riding Side Saddle (having never ridden side saddle before) or with no saddle (bare back) or in my underwear – or a combination of the 3! I thought of doing it topless but people might rather pay for me to keep my clothes on!
I was inspired to do this by the TV awards for our Armed Forces paying tribute to those injured or outstanding acts of bravery. I felt compelled to do something to help raise funds for Help the Heros. Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from and . The message of the charity is simple: We are strictly non political and non critical; we simply want to help. We believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but together we can help them get better.
