As some of you will know my daughter Emma started to be poorly at the beginning of September 2010, it was a very stressful time and it turned our lives upside down. For months we didn't know what was wrong with Emma until three weeks ago, when we attended Great Ormand Street hospital and she was diagnosed with Chronic Pain Syndrome. We now know that Emma will make a full recovery, but for many families of sick children this isn't always the case.

This experience with Emma has made me think about the support for sick children and their families, so I have decided to try and raise funds for Sebastian's Action Trust. www.sebastiansactiontrust.org

Sebastian's Action Trust has two main aims:

·     Creating a holiday home
"To create a holiday home for children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses, giving them the opportunity for a respite break with family and loved ones, in a purpose-built facility".

·     Providing support
"To offer practical support for children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses and their families. We understand that every family’s situation is unique and we look to meet their individual needs by giving meaningful assistance at critical times".

This is my chance to do something positive for Sebastian's Action Trust. As I haven't run or even jogged since being at school and I won't jump out of any aircraft, I've decided to do a sponsored slim. I started my diet on the 24th March.

Most people want to keep quiet about being overweight, but I want to use this opportunity to raise money for the trust and lose 3 stone by the 1st August 2011. I have made a commitment to help raise funds for Sebastian's Action Trust and I hope that you will help make the donation to the trust as large as possible.
