Following the inspiring efforts of my sister Kate in the London Marathon 2009 I have decided to follow in her footsteps - excuse the pun!

I have been lucky enough to get a charity place through the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, which provides highly specialised palliative care for people living with advanced diseases from Chester, Deeside, Ellesmere port and rural Cheshire.

Its running costs are over £6,000 each day so you can see why I am running for such a worthwhile cause.

Whilst I am pounding the streets of Kenilworth in training please help me make the pain bareable by digging deep - every little will make a massive difference to the lives of those who can be helped by the hospice.
