On Sunday 8 September, Brian & I will be facing one seriously tough challenge. Tough Mudder is probably the Toughest event on the planet. It’s a hard core 12 mile obstacle course involving mud, iced water, ropes, fire and electric shocks -  getting over 12 ft walls and through underground mud tunnels

 

Yes……”electric shocks” (we have had to pay insurance in order to enter– just ‘incase’)

 

The course is designed by the Special Forces and it will push us to our absolute limit  - testing all round strength, stamina, determination and camaraderie.  Tough Mudder isn’t a race, it’s a personal challenge, so its not a timed event - our goal is to complete the course together and in one piece!

 

We should probably point out that only 78% of entrants actually complete the event.

 

…and only 25% of entrants are women.

 

The only way we’re going to get through our training, and haul our sorry selves round this 12 miles of hell is to know that we are raising money a fantastic charity.

 

St Michael's hospice exists to ensure local people get the end of life care they want, need and deserve. They believe that everyone in Harrogate and the surrounding area should be offered the choice of quality end of life care. They support 2400 people a year without charge and are reliant on support to raise the £3.2 million they need annually
