For reasons which escape me right now, on Sunday 27th September 2009, I will be abseiling down the 50 metre Mersey Tunnel Ventilation shaft in Birkenhead. They tell me the views will be great. I am not entirely sure they will be my top priority... And no, I have never abseiled before! Feel free to come along and laugh at / support me, I'll be in a fetching orange t-shirt.
The reason I am putting myself through this, is to raise money for fantastic local charity Henshaw's Society for Blind People. You can find out more about them here: http://www.henshaws.org.uk/. They do a wonderful job supporting blind and visually impaired people in the North of England, giving expert care, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss, right where it's needed most.
