I have decided to undertake another physical challenge this summer, having enjoyed it so much last time!!
About six weeks from now I'll be heading off to Croatia on a swimming expedition with Swimtrek. I'll be island hopping under my own steam for a week, covering a distance of approx. 21km. This however should be quite enjoyable - the less enjoyable aspect of the trip (and the bit for which I'm fundraising) is the training program. As part of my 'get fit' regime I have to swim one very long swim of 5km, all in one go. I'm expecting it to take around 4 hours and will be completing it in the school pool on the afternoon of Sunday 20th June. Not quite the epic journey of last year but still quite a challenge!
The village in Zanzibar we supported last year has had a terrible time recently having to cope with several months without electricity. This has meant no clean water and limited medical resources. The charity has had to use emergency funds to buy in bottled water which has put considerable pressure on their other, longer-term projects so I would love to help out by raising a bit more money for them.
If you feel you can spare a few pounds I would be extremely grateful. We managed to raise £5000 last year but given that there's just me this year I have a rather more modest target of £1000. Every little counts and your donation can help to make a big difference for the people of Jambiani.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks.
