My beloved sister Lucy Jennifer Edwards passed away on Monday 23 November 2009 after living with cancer for some time. We've set up this page so that family, friends, colleagues and anyone who knew her can make a donation in her memory to the amazing hospice that supported her.
Lucy spent her final weeks at Nightingale House hospice in a beautiful room with French doors leading to the garden, space for her husband and family to stay, 24 hour care and support and surrounded by an amazingly dedicated team of doctors, nurses and other staff who looked after her so well. It meant so much to Lucy and to us that she was staying in such a comfortable and safe environment.
Lucy often talked about how important Nightingale House had been to her over the past year. As well as the expert medical attention she received, she also found the other support it provided such as reiki and aromatherapy really beneficial.
You may be surprised to know that Nightingale House needs to raise £7000 a day to operate the hospice and help people living with cancer. Out of its £2.55 million running costs, only 18% comes from government funding.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
The amount you give is not displayed publicly on the JustGiving page but any messages you choose to write will be posted up.
Thank you for donating in Lucy’s memory.
