During November I'll be taking part in NaNoWriMo - writing a 50,000 word novel in one month.
I (just) managed it last year, but I think this year will be quite a lot more difficult.
The reason it will be difficult is that as opposed to last year's novel, which has remained safely unread by anyone other than me, I will be letting people read the results of this year's efforts - and thus exposing myself as the terrible author I really am.
To enjoy this dubious honour, I am hoping people will sponsor me, with the money going to a charity I support - Learn As One - to give the rural community of Simakakata in Zambia a school.
If you donate, then you're welcome to read my novel when it's finished. And if you somehow collectively manage to make it up to £500, I'll even start posting my daily words live - a far more embarrassing prospect.
