Rob died on 17th November 2009 in the Caribbean, following a short illness. What the doctors thought was flu was later diagnosed as a very aggressive form of leukaemia, which was too late to treat.
Rob's working life was in the Leisure industry, sailing and skiing, where he became a real 'people person'. The tributes to him on his Facebook page consistantly describe him as 'gentleman', 'funny', 'professional'. We are very proud of him.
We have chosen to support The Ellen MacArthur Trust if you would like to make donations in Rob's memory. They take 8-18 year olds, recovering from serious illnesses such as cancer and leukaemia, away on 4-day sailing holidays, where they learn to sail and get some confidence back. Please see their website for more details.
