New Forest Purple Challenge Walk - 25 miles
in aid of Southampton Neurological Unit as a thanks for Adam's wonderful care!
Saturday 26th September 2009
Dave, Adam and I would like to thank you all for your support and generous donations in order to raise money for the Neurological Unit at Southampton Hospital.
With the support of our team members, Rose Pepper, Chris and Andy Rainsford, we completed the New Forest Challenge Walk on 26 September 2009 in 10 hours, 15 minutes and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Adam visited the Neurological Unit on Friday 30 October 2009 and presented a cheque for £1800.00 to Miranda Gardner, Head Injury Nurse Specialist. The donation will be used to purchase a Protean electric healthcare bed which is multifunctional for head injury patients.
Adam was delighted to have the opportunity to personally thank Miranda and staff within the Neurological Unit and very proud to be able to donate the funds raised from the charity walk to such a worthwhile cause.
Thank you all once again for your kindness and support!

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page. My son Adam was admitted to the Southampton Neurological Unit on 29th September 2008 after sustaining a serious head injury whilst playing rugby. As a result of the injury Adam suffered a brain haemorrhage and Dave and I were so grateful for the wonderful care that Adam received by all the staff in the High Dependency Unit and the kindness and support that was extended to us all.
A year on Adam has made a full recovery and friends and family now plan to participate in the New Forest Purple Challenge Walk in order to raise funds for the Neurological Unit. In some small way we would like to support the Southampton Hospital Charity to enhance services for patients and their families.
I hope you are able to support this worthy charity - don't forget to select gift aid to increase funds for the hospital.
