308 MILE WRATHWAY WALK · 15 April 2010

Rosemere Cancer Foundation supports world-class care for the 70,000 people in Lancashire and South Cumbria currently living with cancer, by funding cutting-edge equipment, research, training, and patient welfare projects to make their cancer journey more effective, comfortable and stress-free.

Story

Hi,

After having Laryingectomy surgery (removal of the voice box) in August 2007 at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, during October 2007 I had 20 radiotherapy treatments at Rosemere Trust, Preston, to remove any cancer cells.

I have decided to do this walk to raise some money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation. The walk combines the West Highland Way and the Wrath Way. The route is as follows:

Starting  on April12th at Milngarie on the northern outskirts of Glasgow, going along Lock Lomand, through Strathfillan, across Rannock Moor to Glen Coe, onto Kinlockleven and then to Fort William.

Wrath Way starting at Fort William goes through Knordart and on to Glen Sheil, on to Slrath Carron, then on to Kinlockewe, and Ullapool. After Ullapool on to Knockdomph, then Inchnadomph. Then carry on to Kylesku, Sandelwood Bay (one of the finest beaches on Scotland's West Coast) and journey's end at Cape Wrath on May 25th.

The total distance is approximately 308 miles.

Wish me luck.

I am now at Ullapool, having completed about 226 miles of the journey. Staring out on the rest of the Wrathway on Monday 10th. May
