We're the only people providing tailored care and services for people with MND in Scotland, and it's expensive.
Unless you know someone who has or had MND you probably don’t know anything about it, so let me give you the abridged version... It’s a neurological disease which affects the motor neurones, so that’s your ability to walk, swallow, hold your head up, go to the toilet, breathe – all on their way out of the window. For the most part though your brain’s ok – so you’re trapped inside an unresponsive body, unable to do anything for yourself, fully aware of what’s going on, as your previously healthy body degenerates. From onset of symptoms you’ve got on average 2-5 years left to live, but by the time you’ve got a diagnosis it’s about 14 months, on average.
Oh aye, and there’s no known cause or cure.
Anything you can donate will be most gratefully received. Thankyou for taking the time to read our page and thankyou for participating in this mass-flower-planting-project!
