My story

Hi,  and thanks for reading my new page.   As most of you know I'm a little "Mad" when it comes to doing some things !

So this year in May I will again be getting on a Bicycle and cycling solo, funding the trip myself, unsupported, unaided  carrying my gear which will weigh around 40lbs,  and hopefully cycling over 2200 miles - in yes..  17days!  My planned route covers England, Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, France, Italy, Albania, Macedonia, Greece and onto Turkey.

From my house in Huddersfield to Istanbul/over the bridge to Asia.

That's around 130miles average daily miles to be covered so no room for errors/breakdowns.

My cycle will be going via the    "Col du Galibier summit"    in the Alps with a summit height of 8678ft      (This summit famous in the Tour de France..)    I like to make it hard don't I....

My current training times are just mainly on a Wednesday for 6hrs, or an odd Sunday now and again..    So you can see this makes the event harder with minimal training times due to work and family time, also at 45 years young I'm NO spring chicken !.

This is a Very hard cycle and would appreciate any donation large or small... you CAN make a difference to  "Morrisons Raise a Smile in partnership with Save the Children"

You can also EASILY donate by TEXT by texting the words         TNSY 47      (plus amount to donate e.g £1, £2 or £5 or £10) to 70070

You can follow my progress on Twitter  @MadHeadCyclist   please spread the word...
