The official blurb
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Ok - now my bit:
I'm doing the Stroud Half Marathon (Oct 25th) as a lot of you know. It's a damned silly thing to do. The body wasn't designed for it (why else do they make sofas so comfortable!!!????)
I've chosen the Gloucester SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) as my chosen charity as we did temporarily need their help with Ryan just after he was born. We were very lucky that we didn't need their help earlier on. We did go around the Gloucester SCBU and the one in Wolverhampton 10 weeks before Ryan was born when he decided to wriggle so much that Jen's waters broke early! (A rather extreme excuse for not going to a cousin's wedding!)
If you've ever been to a SCBU (and I hope that you never need to) they are the most caring set of nurses I've ever met and you can't help but look at the pics of tiny babies and wonder at the miracles that these nurses help to perform.
SCBUs always need help though.
My aim is to get around the 13 miles in one piece, and hopefully in less than 2 hours. Their aim is so much more important.
