So here I am, have a look at my photos to see all the amazing things I have been doing. Yes, I can drink cocktails, travel by boat and climb many steps. But now I face a greater challenge than all those, can I walk 10km for Jo's Friends?
Having lived in London for 30 years I've never been one for the great outdoors but now the combination of having moved to the seaside and having a great charity to inspire me has led me to put on my walking shoes!
The charity I am fund raising for is Jo's Friends which provides information about a previously little known cancer, cancer of the unknown primary (CUP). Do follow the link to find out more about them. I have a personal connection to the charity as Jo, who died four years ago as a result of CUP, was the sister of my good friend Philippa who I have known for over 30 years since I first met her at Exeter University. Jo's husband and Philippa set up the charity following Jo's death, as they were so concerned about the lack of information and support for families affected by CUP.
The walk is on 15 May 2010 and will take place in West Sussex. For anyone interested there is more info available on the web page of the organisers, Across the Divide (see the Just Walk page)
Philippa and I will be doing the walk along with other friends, including a few more from our University days we hope.
Please do support me on the sponsored walk by making a donation through this page. If you know of anyone else who might be prepared to sponsor me or who would appreciate more information about CUP then please do send this page on to them
