Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am an Association Visitor for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. As such, I visit families who have a member suffering from this debilitating disease. I qualified three years ago and since that time I have been visiting Roy Lem and his lovely wife Noreen. Sadly, Roy died in November 2009 and we all lost a wonderful friend. The way Roy coped with MND was beyond belief. Always smiling and always ready to listen to anything you had been doing. I never heard him complain once! but the frustration was overwhelming.
My friend, Mel Baines, and I have been walking the Viking Way to raise money for the MND Association. It is a 147 mile long walk from the Humber Bridge to Oakham. We have been doing one walk every six weeks or so (except in harvest when everything had to come to a halt!) and have really enjoyed it. We have learned so much about Lincolnshire which is a remarkable county - stunning scenery throughout.
I hope you will be able to give to this worthwhile cause that ultimately leaves sufferers totally dependant on others. It is a progressive and fatal disease that can affect any adult at any age and money is desperately needed for research so that the causes can be found and the disease defeated. Dig deep and thank you xx
