Story

I came across the brilliant "ornamental" pheasants as a teenager cycling past the avairies in the Memorial Park Coventry on the way to school. I ordered books from the National Library and was stunned by their diversity.  As a teenager I hatched and reared a number of the ornamental pheasants and they became my favourite birds.

I learned that many of these fantastic birds were extinct or endangered, that their was a Charity, The World Pheasant Association that co-ordinated activities to try to save these birds from extinction.

The WPA are a committed organisation of volunteers, that have a low profile, funding will really help these birds form extinction.

All monies raised will go to the cause with no funds going towards the activities I'm to undertake.

Thank you.

The World Pheasant Association is a UK registered charity dedicated to promoting biodiversity conservation by ensuring the survival of pheasants and related birds (the Galliformes), which are the most important group to humans globally. The group includes the wild ancestors of chickens and turkeys as well as birds such as the Indian peafowl, which have huge cultural significance across Asia. Through our concern for these species, we work to maintain their natural habitats and the cultural values and livelihoods of communities that depend on them.
