That's it no backing out now...a moment of madness and I am entered in the HSBC "Novice Super Sprint" triathlon at Dorney Lake, Eton on Sunday 18th September. Milena has decided that she wants to join dad and will run and cycle in the childrens duathlon.
I have wanted to try and complete a triathlon for a while but have always found excuses not to bother. Super Sprint is the shortest possible distance but aimed at Novices I should be in good company with sprinting likely to be restricted to getting out of the water ASAP. We'll be raising money for a good cause so the only downsides are getting myself in to a wetsuit and trying to avoid drowning during the 400m open water swim in a cold, deep lake.
Milena has started training too and is looking forward to the day more than her dad.
All sponsorship proceeds go to HSBC Build A School; find out more about the work this charity has done already and continues to support by following the link on the page.
I don't have a specific financial target in mind but helping kids get access to a better education has to be a good thing so all donations will be gratefully received.
HSBC operates a £-4-£ matching scheme for staff and will match donations up to the value of £500.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
Many thanks for your support, I will publish some photos from the day on safe return to Yorkshire.
