Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you that know me you will know just how important my family are to me. So when my mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in March this year I was absolutely devastated, everything else went out of the window and my focus turned to helping her battle through this awful time.
This battle is still ongoing but I am glad to say it is a fight that my mum is beginning to win. This would not have been possible though without the help from all the surgeons, doctors, nurses and support staff at St. Lukes Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. To say thank you to them all and to help them continue to treat cancer patients in the future I would like to give something back.
On Sunday the 4th of October 2009 I will be attempting to complete the 26.2 miles that make up the Clarendon Way Marathon, a hilly course that runs from Salisbury to Winchester. In return for putting myself through the pain of this course I urge you to sponsor me and help make a shed load of cash for the St. Lukes Cancer Centre. The statistic is that 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer in our lifetimes and until they find a cure for the disease we need dedicated centres like St. Lukes that can treat and support sufferers and their families.
