My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Not again, I hear you say............

Deutsche Bank’s 2012 'Charities of the Year' are Help a Capital Child and the Meningitis Research Foundation.

In November, in order to raise funds for these worthy causes I am taking part in a 5-day Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu (the "Lost City of the Incas"in Peru). The trip is part-funded by Deutsche Bank, partly by me. This means that every penny will go right to the charities. Again the Bank will match sponsorship.

Your support would be greatly appreciated! For every £5 donated you will get one chance to win* a jeroboam of champagne (eg. sponsor £10=2 chances).

* first name drawn at random. If the winner is overseas, I will arrange a suitable alternative.

Help a Capital Child

: was set up in 1975 to help disadvantaged young people in London and supports children and young people affected by abuse, homelessness, disability, poverty and illness. Dalton Leong, Managing Director at Help a Capital Child, said, "Help a Capital Child is delighted to have been chosen as one of Deutsche Bank’s two Charities of the Year for 2012. We are a small charity and the support of a large financial institution like Deutsche Bank will make a huge difference to us. Funds raised through this partnership will allow us to improve the lives of at least another 50,000 disadvantaged children throughout the UK: giving them the chance to have the childhoods they truly deserve."

Meningitis Research Foundation

funds ground-breaking research into prevention, detection and treatment of the disease, educating health professionals, raising symptom awareness amongst the public and supporting those affected.

Chris Head, Chief Executive of Meningitis Research Foundation, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been selected as a Deutsche Bank charity partner for 2012. Next year we will support the introduction of a new vaccine against one of the major strains of the disease in the UK as well launch our life-saving awareness work in Malawi. This partnership therefore comes at a critical time, and offers a real opportunity for all involved to make great strides forward in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia"

MANY THANKS IN ANTICIPATION !
