The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, situated in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, exists to help our patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. Where it may not be possible to add days to lives, we aim to add life to days for patients and their families.

Story

Let me just say that I have never done anything like this before. The most dancing I’ve done is on a Saturday night on the club dance floor after a few G&Ts.

After the first training session with my dance partner Kay, it was clear I had some real work to do. I could hardly walk the next day and had muscles aching which I did not know even existed.  I thought I was pretty fit but being a pen pusher has not been the best training for all this high energy dancing with lifts.  So I have hired a personal trainer at my local gym to hopefully get me through the routine without dropping Kay.

To be able to do all this fitness stuff and learn dance steps at the same time, I decided to cut out alcohol until my dance is completed on 16 March.  My last tipple was on boxing day and that will be a total of 80 days without any booze.  I’m a well-known social animal who enjoys a great night out and to give up alcohol for 80 days must be worth a donation on its own.

I hope you enjoyed the video below and will see that we are giving this our best shot and would really appreciate your support however big or small.

Your donations are going towards a very good cause that I strongly support.  The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice are raising funds for their new premises which will offer enhanced facilities for both adults and young people.  They need our support in raising the remaining £15 million they need for this brand new building.

Please give generously and I thank you kindly for your support.

Kind regards,

Martin
