Story
I will be taking part in a charity bike ride from London to Reims on the 16th to 20th of June 2006, cycling a total of 410kms in 4 days and I would like to ask you to sponsor me for this excellent charity.
The Lowe Syndrome is a genetic disorder that can occur with no family history, affecting boys with multiple physical and mental handicaps including cataracts in both eyes, muscle weakness (hypotomia or floppy baby syndrome), kidney problems, cysts, brittle bones, arthritis, poor growth, mental impairment with behaviour problems (autistic spectrum disorder) and epilepsy.
The Lowe Syndrome Trust sponsors research projects into this disorder and is one of the most cost effective charities I have come across. So it is a very, very worthwhile cause. Take a look at www.lowetrust.com for further information.
Donating through this 'JustGiving' site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Lowe Syndrome Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
When I decided to sign up for this ride last year I thought I would have been fully trained by now! Unfortunately that is not the case so it probably will be a more painfull experience than originally planned. Also you can make it even more painfull for me if you wish, as I've committed to double up your contributions. So the more you commit the more I have to!!! So please sponsor me now!
In anticipation - Many thanks for your support.
Martin.
