From 26 March to 10 April 2010, Antonio and Matthew are walking the 190 mile To Coast walk to raise money for the in . Matthew visited in autumn 2009 and was struck by the great work the school is doing.
The was founded 2 years ago by Santosh Koirala. The school takes in street children from a neighbourhood in . If these children weren't able to go to the , they would end up begging or worse. The school provides children with a core education, numeracy and literacy. The children receive a square meal whilst they are at the school. They also receive some welfare, so for example, , one of the girls at the school had been abandoned because she could not speak. The staff found she has a hearing impairment and have arranged for her to receive some special education.
The school has auditable accounts and takes steps to quality assure the education it provides. The school is currently entirely reliant on donations. Your donations will be managed by the Child Welfare Scheme (Registered charity number 1106156). The association with CWS, enables Moonlight Foundartion Nepal to benefit through the use of the charity registration and offering administration . All funds raised go directly to the MFN to educated these children.
The costs of the walk are being met by Antonio and Matthew.
