My story

Last year Kilimanjaro, this year London to Paris Bike Ride .! !

The participants have changed, but the very worthy cause is the same: One of our colleagues, Matthew Baldwin (aka Chippy) sadly lost his life to Brain Cancer in October '09, a tragic loss for someone of 35 years old. We have dedicated ourselves to raising monies for the funding of specific student research posts at UCLH - Research which is already extending the life expectancy of sufferers of this terrible disease.

Anyone that heard Matthew's surgeon, Dr Paul Mulholland, speak last year, would be humbled by the advances that are being made by this research .

I doubt that anyone from this bunch of intrepid Icappers will be Olympic hopefuls, but they deserve your sponsorship for their 305 mile exertions.

The L2P team is made up of: John Herbert, Trish Hogan, Jon Crallan,  Mark Azzopardi, David Pearson, Megan Anderson, Meagan Birch, Gareth Carr and Rachael Little

Thanks in advance - we'll keep you updated of our progress/punctures/grazed knees!

My charity

UCLH Charity

UCLH Charity

Charity Registration No. 229771

UCLH Charity provides support for patients, staff and medical research at UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The hospitals treat not only local residents, commuters and visitors to the area but also provide highly specialised services for patients referred from all over the UK and from abroad. The Trust has a reputation for innovation and providing patient focussed care, with ambitions to be a world class centre for clinical services, teaching and research. In the past the Charity has provided state of the art medical equipment for UCL Hospitals, invested in health initiatives for staff and funded academic medical research projects in conjunction with University College London. Current projects included a £3m joint venture with UCL Hospitals to develop a pioneering education centre, and the investment of £7m, from past legacies, in biomedical research. We are also developing a UCLH homeless healthcare service, responding to an ‘invisible’ patient group who often lack representation. Your gift is vital, to help us support this essential work into the future.
