My story

The orangutan population has declined by 91% in the last century and the orangutan is now critically endangered. This decline is due to habitat loss because of deforestation of the rainforest by logging and clearance for vast oil palm plantations. The loss of their habitat drives the orangutan onto the plantations where they come into conflict with humans. Often they are cruelly murdered and the babies snatched for the illegal pet trade.

Orangutan Appeal UK supports the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre where these little orphans are prepared for a life back in the wild. Typically, a young orangutan would stay with its mother for 6-8 years and so the rehabilitation process is a long and intensive one. The Appeal desperately needs your help to give the orangutan a chance of survival in the wild, where it truly belongs.

Please help before it is too late.
