Story
The unfortunate truth is that 1 in 4 women will lose a baby during pregnancy or birth. Often these incidents go unexplained which can leave women and families devastated.
Frustrated at the lack of research that meant they could rarely answer these questions, in 1992 two obstetricians working in the maternity unit at St Thomas' Hospital in London were inspired to start fundraising for more research into pregnancy problems.
Soon, their cause was taken up by others and a charity affectionately known as 'Tommy's' (after St Thomas' Hospital) was born.
Tommy’s really is a fantastic charity that does great work.
As compelling as all that might be I think what might attract more funds from you lot will be the sheer disbelief at the fact that I might actually complete 26.2miles unscathed. Bearing in mind my rather dubious fitness history and notorious heroic lifestyle this feat surely merits a hefty donation.
I thank you all in advance for your generosity.
