On the 27th of April I will be travelling to Namibia for a 10 day cycle across the vast red rock desert landscape. This area is home to the black rhino, elephant, lion and a wealth of other species uniquely adapted to survive the world's most ancient desert, the Namib.
These rhinos are on the brink of extinction beacuse of loss of habitat and poaching for their horns. Three out of the five species of rhino are critically endangered. By saving thses rhinos, we also save many other species and the incredible landscape that they inhabit. The money I raise through completing this challenge will go directly to the 'David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation' and will contribute to the construction of an education and information centre in support of tribal communities.
I know this may seem like a cause far from our own lives but I truly believe in it and ask you to please support me and give generously for a cause that really does need our help.
