In February 2012, Max and Stewart, both long term living food vegans and healthy living protagonists, are going to Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro. This trip has been made possible by the wonderful generosity of Joanne White of Global Plantations Ltd., whose favourite charity is the Born Free Foundation.
Every year, approximately 30,000 people attempt to climb Kilimanjaro, and 55% do not reach the summit. it is a hard test of stamina, endurance and physical and mental strength.
This will be Max's second attempt to climb Kili - severe altitude sickness and dehydration forced her to take an emergency descent in October 2008, but she has "unfinished business" on the mountain and is determined to succeed this time! Those of you who know Max well will know exactly how stubborn she can be and how she will never give up...
We are being supported by some fantastic people, including those who make raw food snacks, so we will be well-fuelled for this summit attempt and will be blogging about the journey. We're both in heavy training and right now Stewart is the fittest he has ever been! Read Max's training blog here.
