My story

 

What a brilliant day, the weather was fantastic.

It was a little scary as I stepped off backwards off the platform on the top of the Rotunda. The view was amazing and crowd were great.

I am nearly at my target so please feel free to add to the money raised.

It really was a great way  to raise money for the 'Real Lives project' at Ickworth.

Real Lives will tell the true story of everyday 'upstairs/downstairs' domestic life at Ickworth.

The project will enable The National Trust to open  the kitchens and domestic areas of the basement in the Rotunda, showing them as they would have been in their heyday in Edwardian times (from 1910 onwards). Then with your help they will capture the memories of former servants, ensuring these unique glimpses into our past are saved for the future, educating the next generation about life in the early 1900s on a working country estate.
