My story

The architectural plans for the first phase of the Michael Blakey Centre, a new hostel for 60+ children, are nearing completion, thanks to the hard work of architects Ceridwen Owen and Ryan Strating of Core Collective in Tasmania, Australia. Ceridwen and Ryan have been Tong-Len sponsors from its conception as a charity, and have in addition donated their time and expertise to the building project. You can see an image of the proposed building at www.tong-len.org/images/news/hostel_mockup_for_newslette . A start will be made on the construction work in the near future. A water and electricity supply at the site have already been secured. It is now necessary to make a big push to raise the funds we need to complete the hostel building. This is now estimated to be about £160,000. Any help with fund raising,would be very gratefully appreciated.. Sponsorship forms and publicity material can be provided to anyone willing to organise a sponsored or other event. Contact anna@tong-len.org
