On 21 May 2011, I and my fellow Children of Fire International volunteers are going to walk the 14mile(!) real-life Monopoly board (i.e. every London street used in the game) to raise money for this very worthy cause:
Children of Fire, Africa’s first burns charity, sources medical treatment and provides education, care, and support for child burn survivors from South Africa and beyond. Children of Fire has helped countless burn survivors across Africa get the best medical attention and psychological support possible. They also proactively try to prevent fire by educating South African communities in fire-safety and teach people how to seek the appropriate treatment for children if they are burned. Children of Fire also promotes the self-esteem and positive social-emotional development of young burn survivors by hosting adventure camps for burned teens and encouraging social tolerance of disfigurement through burns awareness campaigns.
