Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Lance died in June 2008, less than six months after being diagnosed with an incurable lung cancer. When he had only days left to live, he spent a weekend in St Margaret's Hospice in Taunton, where the care he received was superlative. He also received palliative care support from St Margaret's-funded nurses both in the hospital and at home. Less than one fifth of this work is funded by the NHS and we weren't charged for the care that was provided. St Margaret's relies on donors to keep its work going.
This is a cause very close to my heart. I cannot bring Lance back. And I can't stop the same thing happening to other people. What I can do that is constructive and will provide hands on help to people like Lance, is to raise as much money as possible for St Margaret's Hospice.
Please sponsor me to trek 80km along the Great Wall of China in five days in October 2010 - I've never had a better excuse to force myself into getting fit (surely that's worth a few quid?). And by doing so, you will support all the people like us who are helped for free by St Margaret's Hospice every single day. You all know Lance wants you to stick your hand in your pocket!
Thank you so much.
