***ALL MONEY RAISED ON THIS PAGE WILL BE DONATED TO JO'S CERVICAL CANCER TRUST***
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In July 2011 just four weeks after my wedding and the picture on your left was taken I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The diagnosis came as a complete shock however, I was very lucky to be diagnosed at an early stage and was able to have an experimental surgery that saved my life and fertility.
Throughout my diagnosis and treatment I was provided with support from Jo's cervical cancer trust for which I have set this Justgive page up. Jo's is the only dedicated cervical cancer charity which provides information, support and assistance to cervical cancer patients or those concerned with smear results.
I plan on a few fundraising activities in the year to come so Jo's is the first charity I wish to support. I hope to donate a minimum of £500 for Jo's before going on to support the Beatson Pebble appeal. Given that my surgery was experimental it is very important that such a facility is available within Scotland.
The first fundraiser will take place on Sat 21st January at 1pm with a walk round Strathclyde Park. All participants are encouraged to wear pink pants over there trousers to draw attention to the event. The event is primarily awareness raising but I hope it will manage to raise some much needed funds on the day.
I hope I manage to make cervical cancer more openly discussed and encourage all woman to attend regular smears.
