Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well it's happened and what a climax! I was much more nervous in the morning than I ever thought I'd be. It wasn't helped by looking at those armed with glucose gels. Some had at least 10!! I began to wonder whether I should have tried to force it down my throat in training (my bum bag I had good old percy pigs, sugar sweets, snack bar and I had plenty of water and lucozade drinks on the way). For those who know me well especially Lee- I was one of the last people to start because I had to visit the toilet before setting off! My groupies sent me off from Blackheath. (Thanks so much for getting up ridiculously early to see me off on the start of my journey!) There were really supportive crowds the entire way playing music, screaming, clashing... it was fantastic! Canary Wharf was really loud!! I couldn't see anyone for the rest of the way with the exception of my Dad who was dressed distinctively, although I'm not sure this was his aim!! I crossed the line with sheer relief after 4 hours and 16 minutes. I was totally choked up with emotion (never had that experience before and there were a couple of times where I felt joyfully tearful. (There were plenty of amazing people who felt it wasn't enough to run who took part.)
I loved it and I know taking part was worth the two days worth of pain which followed -anything which helps raise eve more money for CLIMB. I am so damn lucky and I know that life has treated me really well. Visit http://www.climb.org.uk/ .
A massive thank you to those who have been really generous with their money, support and advice. If anyone fancies volunteering their time and is willing to come and help pack bags anytime after 4pm on 25th June in Asda to help raise further money for CLIMB it would be greatly appreciated!! I am trying to get as big a team together as possible to bombard shoppers!
