Dreamflight is a registered UK charity that changes young lives by taking seriously ill and disabled children, without their parents, on the holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida.

Each October, 192 deserving children from all over the UK, accompanied by a team of medical carers, board a chartered Boeing 747 at Heathrow and head to Florida to spend 10 magical days of fun and excitement.  Many of the children could not undertake such a trip without the support of the army of volunteer doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and non-medical volunteers who care for the children 24 hours a day. 

Often away from their families for the first time, the children have the unique opportunity to experience independence, meet other children with similar illnesses to themselves and most of all have fun!  Most children return with increased confidence and self-esteem, something which stays with them for the rest of their lives. 

Each year, the Dreamflight trip costs in the region of £750,000, approximately £3,500 to send one child. This money is raised by a variety of fund raising events held throughout the year.

Between us will be competing in several fund raising events over the next few months in order to raise funds and awareness. The first is the British 10k set to be held on the 8 July. While the second is the London 26 mile Bikeathon, on the 16 September.
