I am in the Cancer Research team and am running for them in the Great North Run on September 20th in memory of my brother, Chris, who we lost to cancer at the end of last year. Having witnessed the effects of cancer first hand, suffered the loss and seen the impact it has on those left behind, I felt I had do something to try to help combat the disease.

Those of you who know me well will know that I am in no way a runner, certainly not a half marathon! I wanted to set myself a genuine challenge that might encourage you to part with your cash in this worthwhile cause. My daughter Charlotte is also runing the Junior event the day before.
