Story

The Syrian conflict has created the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. Half the country’s pre-war population — more than 11 million people — have been killed or forced to flee their homes.

Families are struggling to survive inside Syria, or make a new home in neighboring countries.  Harsh winters and hot summers make life as a refugee even more difficult. At times, the effects of the conflict can seem overwhelming.

In light of this students at Little Ilford school came up with the idea of a sponsored walk for the Syrian refugee crisis. From the very start the students themselves have organised the event, from liaising with Abdullah Aid to publicising the event. Their determination and concern to get the event up and running has been outstanding as well as their willingness to give up their Saturday for those in need.

The walk itself will take place on Saturday 23rd June 2018 and the route will start from Little Ilford school to parliament square - a distance of 10 miles.  Please donate generously to this noble cause.
