Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, which we have updated a second time thanks to the generosity of the many people who have given already.
Many of you know that we have both become fathers this year. David celebrated the birth of his son, Angus, in March, while Michael celebrated the arrival of Ella in May.
Both Angus and Ella were premature - Angus was born 7 weeks early, and Ella 4 weeks. They both spent the first period of their lives being looked after by the team of doctors and nurses in the Special Care Baby Unit of the Borders General Hospital. The care and support that both Angus and Ella received while in the Special Care Baby Unit was absolutely invaluable in giving them the best possible start in life.
It is for this reason that we organised the “4 Abbeys 4 SCBU” walk which started on Saturday 29th over the bank holiday weekend on 29th August and finishes on 2nd September. This is a 5 day 65 mile walk taking in all the abbeys in the Borders. Of course, as a by product of our efforts we hope that we will also encourage others to come to the area and enjoy the walking and other opportunities of this beautiful part of the world!
Please help us give something back on behalf of Angus and Ella. We now hope to raise enough money to enable the Special Care Baby team to purchase 4 height-adjustable cots, which will replace the full set they have at present, costing a total of £6,000 - all donations will be greatly appreciated.
