The rapid decline of the UK's moths is having a knock-on effect on the birds and mammals which rely on them for food.
Conserving the UK's moths is a huge challenge.
To succeed, we need up-to-date information about where species are, and how they are faring.
Moths Count provides this information, meaning we can focus conservation, education and research where it will make a difference.
Your donation will help to increase our understanding of the state of moths in Britain today and to create programmes for their conservation.
With your donation we can:
· persuade major funders to invest in the future of moth recording
· secure the National Moth Recording Scheme and assess the changing fortunes of our larger moths
· keep track of the impact that climate change, habitat loss and the other worrying threats to the UK's moth fauna are having
· develop an online recording system and maintain a dedicated website so that up-to-date information on the distribution of the UK's moths will always be available
· reverse the alarming declines in many of the UK's larger moth species, and monitor the spread of new arrivals and expanding species.
