A message from Phil Voice, the founder of the Landscape Juice Network (LJN)

LJN is an open association of landscape and horticulture (and allied) industries.

LJN helps its members navigate through business using a combination of peer review, help and advice as well as pointing its members to important information and resources.

I will be driving an Etesia H124 professional ride-on mower from Bergerac in south west France up to John O’Groats in Scotland - approximately 2,000km / 1,250m.

The first question that springs to mind is why?  Apart from the challenge, I have taken on this mowerthon to raise money for professional horticulturalists who may have, for whatever reason, fallen on hard times.

I have chosen Perennial because it is the charity that is most aligned with what LJN tries to achive. I hope our collective efforts can raise money, as well as the charity's profile, so that they may extend theeir help, advice and support to many others, especially in these extremely testing times.

Perennial (Gardeners Royal Benevolent Society) - the trade charity which provides free, confidential advice and support to everyone working in, or retired from working in, horticulture, such as gardeners, soft landscapers, plant propagators and nursery men and women.

Sponsors already include Etesia and Fusion Media, but more are being sought.
