Story
Wood Green, The Animals Charity has been rescuing and rehoming animals since 1924. The Charity takes in over 6,000 animals a year and has set national standards in animal welfare. It takes in homeless animals, providing care, finding loving homes and offering advice, support and guidance for owners.
The work Wood Green does is vital for dogs and other pets that would be otherwise left to sleep rough and fend for themselves. Whilst we at Jimmy's Cambridge focus on the homelessness of adults and young people, it's reassuring to know that Wood Green are out there, accommodating and resettling animals to their forever homes.
We've seen ourselves the importance of the relationship people have with their pets, and we too as a homelessness service allow accommodation for up to 2 dogs. In an era where nobody should have to sleep on this streets, it's nice to think this ethos extends to our four legged friends.
This is why our guests at Jimmy's have suggested raising money for Wood Green to show our support and contribute to the facilitation of the amazing service they provide 365 days a year. This is also why the staff of Jimmy's, it's guests, volunteers, family and friends have decided to trek the 20KM trail around Grafham Water in an effort to raise vital funds.
