Story

Hello I'm Mick Carney and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Journey starting in 10 minutes everything all packed including the Kitchen sink. See you all in 4-5 weeks. Please keep Donating.Test run on bike yesterday it is stable and runs ok. Of to the Humber and onwards, Ferry in Four Days.

My Challenge this year is to complete the North Sea Cycle Route for Zoe's Place Baby Hospice. I will travelling around the whole route on my own, camping during the night and cycling on my trusty bike during the day light hours. I will be starting the route on the 4th June and Travelling 3 days down to Harwich for a over night ferry, then from the Hook of Holland I will travel along the north sea coast of Holland and up into Germany then into Denmark around to Sweden, travelling up into Norway then a flight from Bergen to the Shetlands Islands, catching the ferry to Main Land Scotland and then hopefully cycling the last few days down the North Sea Coast to home arriving back on the 6th of July.

The total km for the North Sea Cycle Route is 6000km and i will be taken a few short cuts. One to miss out Hamburg and not travel along the Elbe and if my cycling is not going so good i may have to shorting Denmark and Sweden. Guess the Total km coming Soon.

Biggest Loser Challenge.

I am not the lightest or slimmest of people and the challenge of getting to my fighting weight is hard, I started on new years day and all going well so far. Hopefully you will be seeing less of me.

Percentage of total Weight lose from start: 13.5%

Weekly Weight Lose Percentage: 0.1%.Bike tied up with testing Luggage on.

I work at Zoes on my odd days off sorting items which have been donated to them. I also do the boot sale on weekends for Zoes, when weather is good, you may see us out with the van.

Doing three bootsale this weekend, Redcar Saturday/Sunday and Stokesley on Bank Holiday Monday. Then rest day on Monday night with a night away with my darling wife.

As Mr Keegan said I'd Love It I'd Love It, if I could get donations to a pound a mile that I complete on my journey, so please dig deep and think of my cheeks after i've completed this cycle ride. Thank you all Again.

Hi everyone, it's Day 8 of my North Sea Cycle Challenge. The past week has gone smoothly although the rain's never stopped and i'm surprised my tent is still in one piece. Spoke went on my bike yesterday which i've managed to get fixed, but was cycling along today and heard another 'ping'. Guess i'll have to find a repair shop! Currently having a break; sat in the sun with a coffee and cornetto afew miles outside of Wilhelms-haven, Germany. Keeping my spirits up and can't help laughing when i think about my incident when travelling through Harwich. I was peddling along and felt really chilly, i just couldn't get warm. It wasn't until i dismounted for the ferry that i realised my shorts had split from top to bottom. I'm sorry to anyone in Harwich who saw my buttocks on show! Please keep sponsoring - Zoe's Place deserve all the donotions you can give.

Here we are on Day 11. Just crossed the border into Denmark, still having problems with the dreaded spokes. Weather's okay and decided to treat myself with a luxurious meal of spam spread on crackers. Setting up camp ready to settle down for the night.
