16 of us from NRG have entered in Maggie’s Monster Bike and Hike 2010. It is a 24-hour fundraising team challenge event that goes from Fort William through to Inverness covering 73 miles along the Great Glen Way.
The event, which takes place on the bank holiday weekend of May 1st and 2nd, takes in some of Scotland's most awe-inspiring scenery, starting under the shadow of Ben Nevis in Fort William, through forests and farmland along the length of Loch Ness as we trek along the Great Glen Way to Inverness. We shall bike 30 miles and then hike 43 miles to the finish to complete this leg hammering, heart pounding, breath catching adventure. All of this shall be done non stop!. We ALL have to learn to love vaseline, apply generously and respect the chaffing!
With a maximum of 6 people per team, we have split into three teams - adding to the excitment and rivarly on the day!
Team 1: HELL'S BELLS - Sarah Bell, Sam Wall, Paul Willard & Dawne Coulter.
Team 2: NRG THUNDERCATS - Liam Paddison, Lorna Madden, Joanne Fixter, Sam England, Adam Wright & Iain McCulloch.
Team 3: WALLA WALLA WEASAL WACKERS: Patrick Lonergan, Roger Burn, Natalie Floyd, Natalie Moyles, Chris Murray & Simon Critchley.
Throughout the build-up to the main event, we shall be doing mini fund raising events such as;
Beard / Moustache Growing Competition - pictures to follow at end of Jan.
