Story
My name is Michael Parker, me and my very good friend Kenny Parkes are climbing KILIMANJARO on the 19th February to the 1st March 2014 in aid of southampton cystic fibrois unit in memory of Nadine Blake.
Nadine was born 13th November 1994 weighing 5lb 6oz. Nadine was first taken into hospital at 4weeks old and we were told she had bronchiolitis. From the age of 4weeks up until 9months she had many admissions in hospital. They eventually did a sweat test which diagnosed her with Cystic Fibrosis.
Despite Nadines daily struggle and regular hospital admissions from a very early age she still managed to attend infant, junior and secondary school and came out with good grades and met many friends. She was a very outspoken, beautiful and determined young lady.
Nadine sadly passed away 2nd march 2013 at the age of 18 years old, but her wish was to help others suffering from cf. So this is why I and Kenny are taking on this kilimanjaro challenge so we can raise the money to build a garden for the patients and for hospital equipment for the unit.
