Hello and thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page!

I'm embarking on another adventure in January 2017 and this time the journey will take me to Kenya.  For 10 weeks, I will be working as a team leader on the Balloon Ventures Entrepreneur Programme. A bunch of young people from the UK and East Africa coming together to fight poverty and to really make a difference where it is needed most.

What is Balloon Ventures?

Balloon Ventures, part of the International Citizen Service (ICS), is one of the first ever international programmes to bring together entrepreneurs, youth volunteers and interactive microfinance to positively change lives. UK and African volunteers will be working with local entrepreneurs to launch exciting businesses that create jobs and better livelihoods. Since joining the ICS two years ago, Balloon Ventures has helped to launch 150 businesses across Kenya, supporting 550 local entrepreneurs. It's really an amazing programme and I'm proud to be part of it.

My fundraising project

The £800 that I'm aiming to raise won't go towards my placement - 90% of Balloon Ventures costs are funded by the Department for International Development (including all volunteer's flights, visa's, vaccinations, and costs of living with a host family). The funds raised will instead ensure that African volunteers from less privileged backgrounds can continue to join the programme and work alongside the UK volunteers. So please, donate, donate, donate!

Apart from monetary donations, I am also looking for laptops in good working condition that you would be happy to donate to our Kenyan entrepreneurs to support their businesses.

Looking to get rid of any old possessions? I am selling a bunch of stuff online and all the profits will go towards my fundraising target. So please pass on anything you don't need anymore.
