On the 18 January 2011 Naomi, Matt, Harry, Stewart and Erin went to Nepal as part of their Adventure Tourism Management Degree.
The main part of the degree is to organise and take part in a 25 day expedition. We choose to go to Nepal to work with NavaJyoti School in Lalipur (Just outside of Kathmandu City).
The children were so so lovely. Even though they were living below the poverty line, they couldn’t have been happier
The money we have raised so far has been raised in a number of different ways:
· We all finished the EDF Birmingham ½ Marathon in October 2010
· Naomi, Erin & Harry all did carboot sales
· Naomi and Matt have both sold items on eBay
· And in October, we hosted a student event called Beach Party on Everest.
The money that is raised on this site will be going towards improving sanitation at the school as well as buying educational resources.
29% of Nepalese children having no access to primary education, Future For Nepal attempts to overcome this social injustice through its sponsorship programme. Nava Jyoti Lower Secondary School has about 150 children registered.
